Powered by TiVo Metadata: Nashville’s New Museum of African American Music
The National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) in Nashville held its virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony on Martin Luther King Day 2021, and is now open for visitors.
The museum’s key exhibit showcases its Roots & Streams app, which offers personalized explorations of the connections between songs, artists and music executives, using the power of TiVo’s Music Metadata.
NMAAM President and CEO Henry Beecher Hicks III recently chatted with TiVo’s Allen Schrott for Music Biz Live about the exhibit, the genesis of Roots & Streams, the short line from Mavis Staples to Run-DMC, and how the app’s unique music discovery experience drives extended engagement with visitors – from the museum to the home – through downloadable playlists.
